Project 25 (P25) is a set of standards for digital radio communications (both voice and data) developed through the joint efforts of various organizations including the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials International (APCO), and standardized by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA). These standards specify interoperable digital two-way communications between separate P25-compatible Trunking Systems and / or Conventional Systems, where the communications equipment may come from various manufacturers, and the communications systems may be operated by different agencies. "ASTRO® 25" is Motorola's P25 standards-based family of communications network equipment.
